A Decade in the Making

Nearly ten years after falling in love in Mykonos, we're heading back to where it all began.

Our Story

Every good love story needs a beginning, and ours starts, rather unglamorously, with a swipe right on Tinder.

It was March 2017. Jeremiah was on a ski trip in Park City, Utah, when Brandon's profile appeared on his phone — one swipe, one match, and neither of us had any idea how much that small, ordinary decision was about to change our lives.

A few weeks later, Brandon flew to Atlanta for our first date, and what began as a long-distance romance quickly settled into a steady rhythm of flights between Atlanta and Salt Lake City — two cities, one conversation that never seemed to run out.

Then came Mykonos.

That August, Jeremiah already had a trip to Greece planned, and on a whim, invited Brandon along. After some back-and-forth and a little creative rearranging of schedules, Brandon found a way to make it happen — and somewhere on that small island in the Aegean, between the long dinners, the maze of white buildings, and the days spent out on the water, we fell in love.

It was the kind of trip that rearranged our sense of what was possible. Myconian sunsets have a way of making it nearly impossible not to feel something — and underneath all of it was that quiet, startling realization that we'd found someone we could be completely ourselves with. Looking back, it makes sense that this is where it happened: we've always been happiest in motion, discovering somewhere new side by side, and Mykonos was the first place that showed us just how good we are at that together.

One particularly beautiful day out on the water, something between us felt different. With the wind blowing in our hair and the sun on our faces, we held hands, kissed, and held each other a little closer. It was one of those moments that felt unmistakably special and romantic — like something between us had shifted.

Later that day, Jeremiah announced something on Facebook:

"Everyone deserves to love and to be loved."

That's exactly how it felt. It still is.

By the end of the trip, we had both said "I love you," and upon our return, we knew the distance between Atlanta and Salt Lake couldn't last — one of us was going to have to move. So, not long after, Brandon made the leap. Jeremiah flew out to Salt Lake, together we packed up Brandon's Subaru, loaded in Gus, Brandon's lovable orange tabby, and the three of us drove for three days across the country to Atlanta. The long-distance chapter was, officially, over.

In the years since, we've built a home, grown our careers in Atlanta, and kept exploring as much of the world as we possibly can. A few years later, Jasper joined the family, turning our little household of three into four.

For all our differences — and there are plenty — we've always been aligned on what matters most: kindness, generosity, a shared belief in showing up for people. Brandon's strengths tend to be Jeremiah's weaknesses, and vice versa. And somewhere along the way, each of us found in the other a place to simply be ourselves, no explaining required. We've said it to each other more times than we can count: we make a great team.

Ten years in, our love looks different than it did in Mykonos — deeper, steadier, more lived-in. We've continued to choose each other through all of it: the easy seasons and the harder ones, the moments that have tested us. It hasn't always been easy. It's been work. But we've always found a way to move forward, together, and proven — to ourselves, if no one else — that we could. That's the part of our story we're proudest of.

So when we started imagining our wedding, a big traditional affair back home never quite felt like us. We kept coming back to something smaller, warmer, and a little more adventurous — a few beautiful days somewhere special, surrounded by the people who have been part of our story.

And really, there was only one place that made sense.

Nearly ten years after we fell in love in Mykonos, we're going back to make it official — sunsets over the Aegean, long dinners, plenty of wine, dancing, and undoubtedly a few new stories we'll still be telling ten years from now, right alongside this one.

More than anything, we're grateful you're making the journey to celebrate with us.

See you in Mykonos.
